12 Angry Jurors Cast Tours Historic Courthouse

The cast of 12 Angry Jurors at Fayetteville High. Oct 24-27. These Theatre Students are amazing with their dedication & talent. This play written in 1957 rings true today with women’s rights, immigration, our justice system and our humanity. Today the cast was invited to tour our historic Washington County courthouse. Our guide Dwight Gonzales gave students an insightful view from inside our court system. He explained the importance of record keeping and history of the structure. The theatre students sat in the jury box, viewed the jury room, admired the historic architecture and realized the solemn, genuine respect for the search for justice. The rehearsal later that afternoon was amazing. Even with line gaps and awkward blocking. The students showed a new depth of understanding. Thanks Washington County and Dwight Gonzales and the friendly folks working at the WCC.

Bronx Tale Actors Visit FHS Theatre

Actors from the National Tour of A Bronx Tale held an acting workshop for Mike Thomas's Theatre II students in the FHS Black Theatre. Feb. 25. 2019  Students listened as the performers told their stories of becoming a professional actor.  Students performed prepared monologues for the actors to adjudicate. 
Thespian Troupe #717 of Fayetteville High School received a $3,200. grant to attend the Arkansas State Thespian Festival in Jonesboro, Arkansas in February 2022.  The grant will help defray the travel and hotel costs for twenty-eight FHS Thespians attending the Festival.  Students will participate in theatre workshops presented by national theatre professional.  Students will be adjudicated in areas acting, musical theatre, technical theatre, and theatre marketing.  

FHS Students Travel To London

FHS Theatre students and teachers traveled to London, England in June.   Students explored the birthplace of William Shakespeare, The Globe Theatre, West Minister Abbey, The Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, Stonehenge, attended three West End shows, and participated in acting workshops with theatre professionals. 

Stage, Film, and TV actor Scott Wolf visits FHS!

Stage, Film and Television actor, Scott Wolf (Party of Five, Go, White Squall, Nightshift Side Man, Fat Pig), talked with FHS Theatre students on the craft of acting and careers in the entertainment industry.
