Assignment #1
​Shakespeare In Love Analysis: 
Due at the end of class.


Divide into small groups of Maximum 5. On a laptop, create a google document to complete a character analysis of the lead characters of Shakespeare in Love using the criteria below. When asked for Scene Objective, pick your favorite scene and complete the Analysis!

​Group 1  (Male Lead​)

​Group 2 (Female Lead)

​Group 3  (Male Lead​)

​Group 4  (Female Lead)
​

Breakdown:
20 Given Circumstances (Found in the text or infer) Please write in first person. 

Super Objective (What does your character want out of the whole play)
Scene Objective (What does your character want from a scene of your choice)
Stakes (What do you have to gain or lose in your scene.)
Obstacles (What is standing in the way of your scene objective- Internal and external)

Assignment #2
​Shakespeare In Love Critique-

In Class OR Homework (ONLY IF you choose to rehearse Lip Sync or aren't finished with the 1st assignment) 

Write a 3 page paper reviewing Theatre Squared's Shakespeare In Love using Aristotle's Elements of Drama. The paper should have the following:
Introduction Paragraph- 5 points
Thought/Theme-5 points
​Plot (Brief Summary)-5 points

Character (Choose 2 actors to discuss grows and glows for 5 points each)- 10 points
Music-5 points
Language- 5 points
Spectacle (Set, Lighting, Costume/Makeup, Props, Sounds/Special Effects-2 points each)-10 points
Closing Paragraph-5 points
*Improper use of the following requirements will result in a 5 point deduction for each offense:
Times New Roman Font, Double Spaced, 12 Point Font, Correct Spelling/Grammar, 3 Page Length

​PLEASE PRINT PAPER AND TURN IN ON SEPTEMBER 5th 2019 at the beginning of class!

Viewing the play is worth 50 points and the written review is worth 50 points.
This assignment is due at the BEGINNING of class on Thursday September 5th 2019.
Any late submissions will result in 10% off each class it is not turned in.
