Students are researching specific time periods, becoming experts on the clothing, accessories and cosmetic practices of the day. They are preparing Google Slide presentations to share with the class. Sone will post links to the presentations as they are given, so students can access any information they might miss due to an absence. Please see the assignment below.
As a culminating machine sewing project, students are constructing hanging costume accessory bags for use in our wardrobe department during productions. After Thanksgiving, we will engage in our Costume History project and a design project for our winter play, Crimes of the Heart.
Here is the writing assignment for responding to watching the fall play, The Night of January 16th.
For the next few weeks of class, students will be learning and demonstrating sewing skills. We will begin with hand sewing techniques and then move on to machine sewing. Look here for videos of each technique.
