Modern Day Greek Tragedy Performances Monday 10/1/17

Actors were placed into groups of 2-3 and assigned a part of antigone to summarize. We reviewed the parts of a Greek play and played "Trading Cards" to review Antigone. Each group submited their questions/answers to create a study guide.

Today, the class was split into two groups and assigned the task to write and perform a modern day high school greek tragedy. See attached Rubic.

Today we began reading Sophocles' Antigone

Today we shared our Toga's that described ourselves, created a skit that told the story of Oedipus Rex, and received an outline for Greece: The Birth of Theatre. 

Study the given outline over Greece: The Birth of Theatre.
There will be a TEST on MONDAY September 11th! (NEXT CLASS!)
Please be able to identify the parts of a Greek theatre, along with understanding of how theatre was created and who influenced it.
Use both the outline and Prezi in the previous blog to gain understanding.

Refresh yourself on the play Oedipus Rex before next class. Students were divided into 2 groups and are tasked with recreating the story of Oedipus next class. You will have the first half of class to prepare and the second half to present.
